HeatingOilExpress was started in 2018 by Daniel Delton, a lifelong Long Island resident who spent years coordinating residential fuel routes for an independent Nassau County oil company. Daniel kept running into the same frustration: homeowners who simply wanted to buy oil, without signing a service contract, struggled to get a straight answer. He built HeatingOilExpress around a more direct approach. Explain the options in plain language, confirm the property details that actually affect a fuel drop, and schedule each order against real route capacity rather than a vague promise about sometime tomorrow. When a request does not fit an open route, we say so and give you the next realistic window.
Today Daniel works alongside dispatch manager Marisol Vega, lead driver Kevin O'Neill, and customer care coordinator Aisha Patel. Marisol runs daily routing and keeps customers updated when weather or Long Island traffic shifts an arrival window. Kevin has spent more than a decade on residential oil deliveries and deals with the practical reality of properties here: tight driveways, locked gates, fill pipes tucked behind landscaping, and snow-covered connections in January. Aisha walks homeowners through delivery choices, prime-and-restart requirements, and exactly what a driver needs to know before pulling up. Together the team serves communities throughout Nassau County and nearby Long Island areas with the same straightforward, owner-led approach.
Most heating oil companies are built around automatic delivery. It suits the company: predictable routes, predictable revenue, customers locked into a season contract. It does not always suit the household, particularly one watching its own budget through a cold January. Our model is the opposite. You watch your tank, you decide when to buy, and you pay for that delivery alone.
That flexibility only works if the rest is honest. We set our minimum delivery at 25 gallons, well below the 100 to 150 gallons much of the industry requires, because a household that can only afford a partial fill this week should still be able to keep the heat on. We confirm the per-gallon rate before anything is scheduled rather than after the truck has gone. And when a route genuinely cannot take your order today, we say so instead of booking it and letting you find out at nine that evening.
Our routes cover Nassau County and nearby Long Island communities: central Nassau towns including Bethpage, Farmingdale, Levittown, Salisbury, East Meadow, Hempstead, Uniondale and Roosevelt; the South Shore from Bellmore, Merrick, Freeport and Baldwin through Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa, Oceanside and East Rockaway into Amityville; and Hewlett and Woodmere in the Five Towns. Each of those places presents a different delivery problem, from Levittown driveways built for a 1949 sedan to gated estates in Hewlett Harbor and canal streets in Freeport where a full-size truck has one way in and one way out.
We will not promise an arrival window we have not checked against the live schedule. We will not quote a per-gallon price that expires before the truck reaches you. We will not tell you a refill alone will restore heat when the tank has run completely dry and the fuel line is full of air, because that is usually a two-part job and you deserve to know before you pay for the first part. And we will not send a driver into a property where the road, the driveway or the weather makes the delivery genuinely unsafe.
